What are the workshop times?
Day 1 usually starts at 9am and concludes at 5pm. Actual timings will be provided via email prior to the workshop.
What time should I arrive to the workshop?
Please aim to arrive 15–20 minutes before the workshop begins so you have time to sign in, grab a tea or coffee, and settle in. This helps us to start on time and ensures a smooth experience for everyone.
Where is the venue and is there parking?
Details about the venue will be included in your confirmation email. If you haven’t received this, please contact us.
Is there a dress code?
While there is no formal dress code as such, a ‘smart casual’ dress code keeps things comfortable while maintaining a level of professionalism.
What do I need to bring?
While materials and/or resources will be provided at the workshop, it is usually expected that you bring your laptop. We will let you know prior to the workshop if you need to bring anything else.
Will kai/food be provided at the workshop?
Yes, kai will be provided for the duration of the hui. Meals (including coffees) outside of the catered options are at your own cost. Any dietary requirements should be noted on the registration form.
Can I bring my tamaiti/child?
We understand that whānau responsibilities are important. The decision is up to the facilitators of the workshop, whose priority is the learning and development of kaiako who are attending, as well as the safety of the facilitator and baby. In fairness to other kaiako, anyone bringing their baby needs to have their own room.
What is covered by Ako Panuku?
Ako Panuku will organise your travel and accommodation if and where required. This includes flights, transfers to the venue, accommodation, course costs, rental cars, or reimbursement for mileage where required. For full details, please see our Travel and Accommodation Policy.
What is not covered by Ako Panuku?
Ako Panuku will not contribute to any additional costs such as mini-bar, alcohol, barista coffees, or other hotel services.
Can I stay longer/arrive prior to the workshop?
You can, but Ako Panuku will only cover the accommodation and travel costs directly related to attending the workshop. Any additional costs must be paid by you. In these cases, Ako Panuku may require you to organise your own travel and seek reimbursement.
How much is the single room cost contribution and how do I pay for this?
This depends on the venue, but it is normally between $100–$150 per night. The cost contribution is usually payable directly at the venue.
How and when will I get reimbursed?
You will receive a disbursement form on the last day of the workshop, which you can send back to us. Once received, we will process reimbursements as quickly as possible.
Can I bring a colleague? / Can I register on behalf of someone else?
Each participant must submit an enrolment request for themselves. If your colleague wishes to participate, you can forward the registration link to them.
What should I do if I can no longer attend?
We understand that sometimes plans change. You can cancel up to one week prior to the workshop without incurring any cancellation fees. Should cancellations be received within one week of the workshop, we may invoice you or your kura to cover any incurred costs that we are not otherwise able to recover.
Will photos or videos be taken?
Yes. Photos and/or videos may be taken for promotional or documentation purposes. You would have indicated in your registration if you are happy for your photo to be taken at the workshop. If you need to change this, please let us know.
Who do I contact if I have questions before the workshop?
If you have any pātai, feel free to get in touch with us via email: akopanuku@haemata.co.nz or phone: 07 308 6322. We’re happy to help!
